A Place of Grace We Call Home

Palm Lake Urban Sanctuary (PLUS) rises on church land at 5401 22nd Ave N in Disston Heights, next to our sanctuary. We are building it with Newstar Development and the Pinellas County Housing Authority, and the church keeps the land under a long-term lease.

It is our answer to a simple question: what if a church used its unused land to welcome neighbors home? Under the “Yes In God’s Backyard” approach, PLUS is the first project of its kind in St. Petersburg and in Florida.

86 one- and two-bedroom apartments in a four-story building, for households earning 30–80% of the Area Median Income, kept affordable for at least 50 years, with energy-efficient appliances, electric-vehicle charging, a community garden and a playground.
