The Hispanic Ministry of Palm Lake Christian Church

I met the Lord in the 1990s. Since then, God has guided my walk of faith and service.

I am a founder of the Palm Lake Hispanic Ministry and, together with Pastors Peter and Darlin, I was a pioneer of this work within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

I remember connecting online with Rev. Vilson Hurtado, believing and dreaming of what God could do. Today I have the honor and joy of seeing it come true.

I thank God for His faithfulness and for letting me be part of this beautiful work that keeps transforming lives.

I have walked in the gospel for many years. When I arrived in the United States, I longed to find a Hispanic church where I could gather and serve the Lord.

There is nothing more beautiful than doing it alongside my daughter, Pastor Darlin, in the Palm Lake Hispanic Ministry, a place where God has let us grow, serve and see His work unfold in community and love.

I thank God for this place and for what He keeps doing among us.

I come from the apostolic movement in Cuba, and when I found this congregation I knew right away it was my place. I am deeply happy and grateful for my pastors, Peter and Darlin, and for living the principle of the Lord’s Table, where we are all welcome.

I am currently studying in the Hispanic Ministries Certificate of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and I serve as a lay leader in this congregation.

I love this church and thank God for letting me be part of this family of faith.

I am Cuban and was formed in the same ministry context as Pastor Peter and Pastor Darlin. We have served together in the church and share one calling to serve. Today I have the privilege of leading the EMUNAH worship ministry in the Hispanic Ministry.

I am deeply grateful and happy to live this adventure of faith, worshiping God and leading others in praise, under the pastoral covering and leadership of Pastor Peter and Pastor Darlin, who serve with passion, devotion and love for people.

I am part of the Hispanic Ministry’s online church and I connect from Mexico. I serve in the worship ministry, taking part and singing in the church’s virtual gatherings.

I have known Pastor Peter since childhood; we grew up in the same church, and his mother was my first pastor. Today I follow his ministry with gratitude and joy, and I am very happy to be led by him and Pastor Darlin in this beautiful adventure of faith.

I have been part of the Hispanic Ministry since its beginnings online, when Pastor Peter and Pastor Darlin traveled every Sunday from Miami to St. Petersburg to serve faithfully.

I come from the Baptist tradition, and here I have found that there are no differences, because we are all welcome at the Lord’s Table. I deeply love my pastors and this congregation, which has become my family of faith.

After 6 years without a church home, I came to this ministry at a very special moment in my life. The pastor is a friend from my childhood and the pastor’s partner is from the same city in Cuba; we grew up in the same neighborhood. After 30 years, God let us meet again, and today they are my pastors.

In this congregation I have found the place I was looking for in my walk of faith. A community where I can grow, serve and walk with God, accompanied and loved.

I come from the Catholic tradition, and when I visited the Hispanic Ministry I recognized the work of these young pastors, full of passion for people. From the first moment I felt at home in this congregation.

I am learning a great deal through the teaching of Pastor Peter Jimenez and Pastor Darlin, especially their dialogue-based method, where everyone’s opinion is valued. It has helped me grow and feel part of the community.

I am Cuban and was trained in the same Cuban seminary as Pastor Peter and Pastor Darlin. We served in the same church and were formed together in faith and ministry. Today I have the privilege of serving as the church’s drummer and pastoral secretary.

I am deeply grateful and happy to live our adventure of faith together, led by pastors with a sincere heart, passion for God and love for people.

I come from the Pentecostal church in Cuba, and today I serve with joy in the Hispanic Ministry’s team of servers. My heart fills with joy at every service; when we sing, I dance with gratitude to the Lord, celebrating what He has done in my life.

I am deeply grateful to be in the church I dreamed of finding in the United States. Today I can say with certainty: this is my congregation.

I arrived with many questions when I met Pastor Peter and Pastor Darlin, until the day God showed me clearly that this was my congregation. Here I had a personal encounter with God, seated at the Lord’s Table.

Although I came from the Catholic tradition, I was never rejected. On the contrary, they taught me the Word with love, patience and respect.

Today I thank God for this community that welcomed me with grace.
