Ground broken on Palm Lake Urban Sanctuary

For years we prayed about what God would do with the empty land next to our sanctuary. In August 2025 that prayer took shape: we broke ground on Palm Lake Urban Sanctuary (PLUS), a community of 86 affordable homes at 5401 22nd Ave N in Disston Heights.

The ceremony brought together our congregation and the partners who make this project possible: Newstar Development and the Pinellas County Housing Authority. The church keeps the land under a long-term lease, and the work is now underway.

The City of St. Petersburg recorded the day. You can watch it here: Palm Lake Urban Sanctuary Groundbreaking Ceremony (YouTube).

Walk with us

Pray with us for the workers, for safety on the site and for the families who will one day call PLUS home. If you would like to learn more or serve alongside us, join us on a Sunday: worship in English at 11:00 AM and in Spanish at 2:00 PM.
